Today we are going to do a quick review of Rikon's 13" planer. 

Out of the box: You will have this Rikon planer humming in a matter of minutes. It does require some light assembly, but it is pretty self explainable to the novice individual. It does come with a manual that has step by step instructions for assembly. All tools and screws are included with the planer. 

Using this planer: Speed rate is a notable feature on this planer. It features two speed options, 16 & 26 SF/MIN is very handy. If you are like me you will set it at the fastest speed available and let it run. You will notice the smoothness of the boards coming through. Any planer should give you a clean cut but the helical cutter head on this Rikon planer really stands out by giving you a very smooth cut.
